Rain, snow and lingering puddles will add to your adventure on the trails thanks to the trail specific GT-2000 5 TRAIL PlasmaGuard for men.

The GT-2000 5 TRAIL PlasmaGuard is the go-to men’s trail running shoe for taking aim at your long run off-road targets. It’s built for medium to low pace trail runners and offers late stage overpronators superior stability, while rear foot ASICS GEL cushions each step for a comfortable, supported ride. And when conditions get harsh, the dedicated earn their advantage thanks to water repellent PlasmaGuard to keep your feet dry and protected against slushy snow, rain and mud.

PlasmaGuard is a nano-technology upper coating that makes the shoe resistant to rain and mud, preventing absorption of water that results in added weight. This layer of protection doesn’t compromise on flexibility or breathability so your feet stay comfortable.

The GT-2000 5 TRAIL PlasmaGuard doesn’t only let you push through unforgiving weather, it also takes you safely into low light and night time runs thanks to 3M reflectivity. Your feet come alive when light hits the reflective detailing, ensuring you stay visible and run safely after dark. The trail outsole ensures uphill and downhill traction on all types of terrain while the Fluidride midsole - the latest evolution in ASICS midsole technology -  provides the ultimate in bounce back and cushioning characters without adding weight to the shoe.

GT-2000 5 TRAIL PlasmaGuard is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and supportive The fit was good (very similar to my GT-2000 6), I went out in my first run and covered a playing field, roads & undulating trails in a forest. Throughout the run, it felt stable and solid. Very happy with the purchase and the best trail shoes I’ve had yet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant for muddy runs Bought these for trail marathons in muddy conditions. Comfortable, strong and keeps the feet pretty dry except in torrential rain. Exactly what I wanted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best trail shoe I’ve ever had Went for a run on a trail today, the bounce felt great and even - it was the most comfortable cross country I’ve ever done

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smallish? Seem ok but seem a bit small. Maybe narrower than previous asics I have bought although neither had indications of width

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Liner Not Tough Enough I Bought the GT2000-5 trail shoes in July’17 - basically as soon as they were available. The shoes feel great. Light like the road shoes but with tougher soles and a deeper grip. I’ve enjoyed running in the shoes and even bought a spare pair. However I have been a bit disappointed with the hardiness of the shoe liner. Both shoes have developed holes at the rear interior of the shoe after only 500km of use. Comfort wise the shoes have been fantastic - I used them on a 100km ultra run and found them to be very good, no blisters or black toe nails. Over all a good shoe, but the liner needs to be tougher.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not water resistant. Hi, I normally love ASICS and OT footwear back in Feb I bought the GT-2000 5 TRAIL plasmaguard. 99% of the reason I got these was because they’re water repellent. I’ve only worn them about 10 times and today I thought I’d wear them for training as the grass was a bit wet. They are NOT water repellent at all. (I understand the difference between waterproof repellent and resistant). Like I said the grass was damp not soaking wet or was it raining! My feet got soaked and I’ve got blisters all across my toes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Back of Heel is Poorly Crafted I've run in these twice and taken them on a walk a few times to break them in. The back of the heel is very uncomfortable, I've bled in these whilst running & walking, not impressed. My last pair were ASICS, which had been brilliant, disappointed! Shoe has been returned.
